I had the honor, along with a delegation from the Beirut Forum, to visit His Excellency the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Lebanon, Mr. Walid Bukhari, at his residence in Yarzeh. This visit was an opportunity to discuss the current developments in the Lebanese arena. I expressed to His Excellency the gratitude of the Lebanese people and the residents of Beirut for the Kingdom’s support for Lebanon during its most difficult times. We thanked the Kingdom for its contributions and efforts, in which His Excellency the Ambassador played a significant role in implementing that policy, extending a hand of goodwill and generosity—as he has always done. We asked him, given his extensive political and diplomatic insight, to work on encouraging Saudi brothers to come to Lebanon to revive tourism, lift the ban on land shipping, and enhance economic cooperation for the benefit of Lebanon. We then informed His Excellency that the Lebanese people look forward to an active and essential role for the Kingdom in restoring Lebanon’s role and its political, social, and economic stability. In conclusion, we thanked His Excellency the Ambassador for his warm reception, wishing him success and prosperity.
