Kashli honored the head of the Bar Association.

Lawyer Hassan Afif Kashli held a ceremonial dinner in honor of the head of the Bar Association in Beirut, Nader Kasbar, at the residence of Haj Afif Kashli in Shabaniyah. The event was attended by former MP Rola Tabesh, Mount Lebanon Governor Judge Mohammad Makawi, former Beirut Governor Judge Ziad Shbib, several members of the Beirut Bar Association, the mayor of Shabaniyah, and the deputy head of the Higher Metn Municipal Union, lawyer Karim Sarkis, the president of the Islamic Maqasid Graduates Association in Beirut, Dr. Mazen Sharabji, along with a large number of lawyers, judges, officers, media personnel, and businessmen. At the beginning, lawyer Hassan Kashli delivered a welcoming speech to head of the Bar Kasbar, praising his unifying role for lawyers and the work of the Bar Council during the difficult circumstances the country is facing: “We gather today to honor the head of the Bar Association, Mr. Nader Kasbar, whom we freely and conscientiously chose to be a unifying figure for lawyers, given what he represents as a legal and rights figure.”He stated: “Honoring the esteemed head of the Bar is an honor for every lawyer working under pressing circumstances, striving to maintain the rule of law and institutions in a time when the constitution and law are being undermined, and justice is being obscured in a country that was once and will remain a beacon of rights. It is not by chance that Beirut is called the mother of laws.”Kashli urged the authorities and political forces to respect the constitutional deadlines for electing a new president who can unite the Lebanese and meet the significant challenges and responsibilities, and to restore Lebanon’s relations with the brotherly Arab countries, especially the Gulf Cooperation Council states. He added: “Respecting Lebanon’s relationship with Arab countries is fundamental to the constitution and the Taif Agreement, stemming from Lebanon’s identity and Arab depth, and its belonging to the Arab League, of which it was a founding member.” Regarding the delay in forming a government, Kashli asked: “What kind of rescue do we hope for if we cannot form a government and elect a unifying president? What international trust do we seek while the vacuum is affecting institutions one after another? What assistance are we striving for when we see no corrupt individuals held accountable, no looted funds recovered, and the channels of waste remain wide open?” Afterward, head of the Bar Nader Kasbar delivered a speech thanking lawyer Kashli for the invitation and the event that brought together lawyers. He reviewed the daily concerns facing lawyers, particularly the impact of the political, economic, and social conditions in the country, which have affected the work of lawyers.
